Evening ActivitiesSunday Evening WelcomeAt 7.30pm every Sunday we welcome new students with a drink, buffet dinner and a social language activity. This helps you to get to know your fellow students and allows us to see how well you can already communicate in English. Monday and Tuesday: Interactive ChallengesOn Monday and Tuesday evenings after dinner, we invite you to come and join in our challenge activity led by one of our teachers. It could be a team building or management activity, a quiz or a case study. This gives you the opportunity to interact with students of all levels of English and improve your teamwork and communication skills. On Tuesdays in the summer months our executive chef invites you to enjoy a barbecue in the beautiful gardens at Sherbourne Priors. After the barbecue, challenge your fellow students to a traditional English game such as croquet or bowls on the lawn. Wednesday: Excursion to a Local TownWe like to take you on a tour of one of the local towns and show you what makes each one famous, followed by a drink in a traditional English pub. There is the historic castle and gardens of Warwick, as well as Shakespeare's Stratford with its beautiful theatre and river-side pubs. This trip allows you to practise what you have learnt in the classroom in a real-life situation and discover something new about England's history and culture. Thursday: Formal Dinner and Farewell EveningOn Thursday evenings, you are invited to pre-dinner drinks in the Blue Room. Every week we invite different guests from the local area to join us for a wonderful three-course dinner prepared and presented by our executive chef. The evening is rounded off with the presentation of certificates to the students who are leaving, and their farewell speeches. You can look back on your time at Sherbourne Priors and practise your presentation skills by telling your fellow students what you have learnt and enjoyed. |
